About

Kurian studies late-medieval Dover. Her research interests include: late-medieval urban environments, The Cinque Ports, and maritime economies.

In her role as Communications Coordinator for the SSHRC funded Environments of Change project, Kurian works with a team of interdisciplinary scholars including historians, scientists, archeologists, educators, and developers to understand and highlight their work for a general audience. Kurian is also the Communications Coordinator for the DRAGEN Lab at St. Jerome's University.

Kurian has received several awards and scholarships including the Ontario Graduate Scholarship (2022 - 2025) from the University of Waterloo and the Schallek Award (2023) from the Medieval Academy of America.

She lives in Kitchener, Ontario with her partner and dog. Kurian is also a knitwear designer.
